ABOUT

Midsummer Music is a volunteer-run community festival with two main aims: to promote the outstanding local music scene, and to bring world-class acts to Galloway.
Over our eleven year history so far we have ticked both boxes with aplomb: we’ve offered our unique Gatehouse hospitality to the likes of King Creosote, Shooglenifty, Jon Otway, Stanley Odd, Malcolm Middleton, Mike Heron and a host of others, while showcasing the talents of local heroes such as What About Wolves, The Razorbills, Emma McNeill, The Cracked Man and The Mind Sweepers.
We’ve brought music to the pubs and cafes of the town, given birth to the legendary Mill Sessions (which keep the music playing throughout the year), told stories, been crafty, and introduced the world to the delights of Ted’s Funny Buns.
Too many splendid memories to catalogue here – your best bet is to get to Gatehouse from the 23-25th of June, and generate some brand new memories for yourselves.

"A wee festival with a big heart!"
